After waking up early Saturday morning, we started walking. We ate breakfast on the way to the Shedd Aquarium. I had made banana nut bread and bought apple juice prior to our trip.
Our hotel was located in the Loop District of Chicago. It was somewhat close to everything. However, we walked a lot.
Jaymie is pretending to cut out a polyp. (A little GI humor)
We spent most of the afternoon at the Field Museum. After viewing several of the exhibits, we decided it was time for ice cream.
Check out the beautiful view of Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan near the Shedd Aquarium.
After visiting the Field Museum, we walked to the Magnificent Mile. We passed Buckingham Fountain, Millennium Park, and the Water Tower. The three of us ate dinner at Giordano's on Rush Street. The Chicago-style deep-dish pizza was wonderful. After we ate, we went to The Cheesecake Factory for dessert.
Jacob did pretty well today. He took a very short nap. After giving him a bath at the hotel, he went to bed. Jacob slept until it was time to wake up the next morning.

Day 2:
We went on the Shoreline Architectural River Cruise. The information and views of the buildings were interesting.
We had a great time playing at Navy Pier. Dad and Jacob rode the Ferris Wheel, while mom watched. Dad also rode the Wave Swinger. We ate hot dogs at Dock Street Cafe where we enjoyed the view of Chicago's skyline. We also walked through the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows.
The views from the John Hancock Observatory and the Sears Tower Sky Deck were great. We new we had walked a lot while in Chicago, but we didn't realize how much until we saw it from above. (Photos were taken shortly after Jacob got sunscreen in his eyes. He was not a happy camper.)
